Shokudo Ramen & Sushi Paramus

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Shokudo Ramen and Sushi in Paramus on two separate occasions—once with my wife and another time with my coworkers. While I haven't yet tried their ramen, I can confidently say their sushi is nothing short of exquisite. One of the standout features at Shokudo is their tempura, which I believe is the best in all of Bergen County. Each bite is perfectly crispy and delicious, making it a must-try for any visitor. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also noteworthy; it’s unique and inviting, creating a perfect backdrop for enjoying a meal. For those who are fans of anime and manga, this venue is a delight. The restaurant is adorned with numerous anime models, adding a fun and whimsical touch to the dining experience. You absolutely can't miss the impressive life-sized Vegeta statue powering up under a cherry blossom near the exit—it's a fantastic photo opportunity! Overall, Shokudo Ramen and Sushi is a gem in Paramus that I highly recommend. Whether you're a sushi lover or an anime enthusiast, this restaurant offers an enjoyable experience that is sure to impress.

Overall a great place to get an easy dinner. I got the miso ramen and it was filling and delicious, the pork was tender and the fat melts in your mouth. The waitress was attentive and kind. The atmosphere is my favorite thing about this place, there are cool paintings on the wall overall it has a cozy vibe.

I went with my 2 daughters, 2 sons and one of their girlfriends. We ordered different meals, and honestly each one was delicious. We were not rushed even though we arrived late. Waiters were super friendly and hospitable. Both my son's were impressed with there anime collection. And my son took a picture with of course the main attraction!! Will go there again!! Definitely! Thanks for the memories!

I have nothing but praise for this incredible hidden gem. The welcoming atmosphere, stunning decor, and fresh food were outstanding. The Shokudo Ramen was exquisite, with a heavenly broth, and the sushi was equally delightful. I highly recommend this place.

Entering the place, the ambiance was very captivating. I love the color scheme! As we were being served, they were very accommodating with our requests (it wasn’t very complicated requests but it is a kind of request that not a lot can alter, which I understand of course. But it was great that they were very accommodating for sure!) The food is very delicious! It surpassed our expectations and we would highly recommend anyone and everyone to visit this place. We would definitely come back here!!!! Also, their ramen broth is made fresh everyday!

Shokudo Ramen is hands down the best ramen spot in North New Jersey. I come here almost every week, and the food is consistently delicious. The broth is rich and flavorful, the noodles are perfectly cooked, and the toppings are always fresh and generous. Whether it’s the classic tonkotsu or one of their seasonal specials, every bowl hits the spot. The service is friendly and fast, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. If you’re looking for authentic, top-quality ramen in North Jersey, this is the place to go. Highly recommend!

Loved the sushi, sashimi and Ramen! 5 stars! The servers were very friendly and kind too. The place is kid friendly too. We are a family of 13pax and they accommodated us :) it was amazing. Will definitely come back

Shokudo is a good place to grab Japanese food: good food nicely presented, good service with whimsical decor that anime fans will appreciate. Shokudo instantly differentiates itself with its unique ambiance. Upon walking in, you are met with cherry blossom trees, murals, a large rattan lounge chair and lots of anime figures posed at the cashier, behind the sushi bar and in shadowboxes above the booths. The owner's love for Japanese pop-culture definitely shines through. I like how the open dining space is broken up by traditional-looking wooden partitions. The food is good. We came for an early dinner and ordered: - spicy tuna roll - shrimp tempura roll - rainbow roll - teriyaki chicken - teriyaki shrimp - ramune (Japanese soda) Spicy rolls at sushi restaurants are generally not spicy at all, I find, perhaps to cater to local tastes. However, the spicy tuna roll at Shokudo was noticeably spicy and to my liking. The vegetables that came with the teriyaki dishes, however, were bitter for some reason. Perhaps they were pre-frozen. Despite this, the food was generally good - I'd give it a 4.5 stars. As you can see from my pictures, everything was nicely plated. The server was nice enough and we were promptly attended to. Shokudo is worth your visit. The food is good and the unique atmosphere mixes the traditional and anime culture for an interesting experience. I didn't have the ramen, but I'd like to return to try it!
